Hi
One of the notions that a realistic look at reality gives us is looking at how the equation of life is constrained by the past. Any action or change in the trajectory of this equation requires matching with the history.
An example of this constraint at the individual level is how the experiences in childhood shape the personality and it carries over to adulthood. Parents and their roles and different characters in the early days get reflected in the psyche and their relationship with the child becomes the way the individual expects to be treated in adulthood.
Or for a society, the history that has shaped the culture cannot be ignored or erased and it is rooted in the past by the transgenerational connections and also the history of art in that culture.
This concept led me into understanding how I, as a person, at the lowest levels have some complexities in my mind and they lead me to think about blaming others for the things that I desire to have. This "I" expands into my family, my culture, my community, coworkers, nations, and the whole planet. Looking back at the misery that was dawned upon human beings and comparing it to the current world is a painful comparison to have in mind.
Thinking about how humiliation, oppression, starvation, tyranny, etc. had and still has a big role in the human relations is such a pity. Lack of empathy and diseased minds who are looking for control for the sake of control has led us into a history of wars and invasions.
Looking back seems like hearing coarse notes of human emotions. Lacking delicacy, lacking fine brushes of actions prevades the mental picture. It looks very masculine to me. Grossly masculine that is probably paired with destructive feminine qualities.
I see history as steps of boots, millitary boots, walking on the grass. Or I feel it like the links and wheels of a tank, moving through a war scene. It may step on something alive, it may step on something delicate but it moves on. I think walking like a ballad dancer is something in the world of art that humans have not experienced yet. For us, current time is still the steps of millitary boots. That is the scene of theater for many people.
Maybe that is how human condition is supposed to be. Maybe for us to learn, takes a lot of effort and years of suffering.
But one thing for myself that may help is to understand blaming the history and what happened and whomever who took my cheese away from me, in this life or the past lives, does not and will not solve anything. My job here is to form my mindset and be truthful to myself. The objects that are in my psyche have to be understood and melted together to form the real me and that is how I can have any contributions to the current state of the human condition.
