7. Interaction (“Alchemistry”)

Nothing exists in isolation—not singularities, not fields, not even the structures that seem stable. Wherever fields overlap, differences arise: gradients of intensity, direction, and tendency. These gradients are the true origin of interaction. What we often interpret as forces, causes, or influences are simply the natural consequence of imbalance within a continuous field. When one region differs from another, something must flow, adjust, or respond. This is where the quiet process you’ve been circling—what we might call alchemistry—begins: not a mystical transformation imposed from outside, but the intrinsic behavior of overlapping relational fields seeking coherence through interaction.

From this view, all phenomena are outputs of these interaction patterns. Matter is not a static substance but a stable pattern of interactions that holds its form. Thought is not separate from physics but a higher-order interaction within a sufficiently complex structure. Emotion is the felt quality of internal gradients resolving or intensifying. Even relationships between people are not abstract social constructs detached from reality—they are real interaction fields where patterns of behavior, expectation, and response continuously shape each other. What appears as different domains—physical, mental, emotional, social—are simply different expressions of how interactions organize and stabilize across scales.

This reframes reality entirely. Instead of thinking in terms of objects that occasionally interact, it becomes more accurate to see interactions as primary, and objects as temporary stabilizations within them. There is no isolated “thing” that later connects to others; there are only patterns of interaction that, under certain conditions, become coherent enough to appear as things. In this sense, existence is an ongoing alchemical process—not of turning one substance into another, but of continuously transforming relations into form, form into experience, and experience back into relation. Everything we encounter is not just happening in reality; it is reality, expressed as the evolving geometry of interaction.
